Beginning in 1982 seven local musicians got together in an early 20th century schoolhouse to jam together. Now the restored school on Buttermilk Road is known as the Bradbury Community Club which comes alive with music every Tuesday night and 3rd Saturday. Everyone is welcome, including visitors and admission is $2 on Tuesdays and $3 on Saturday.
Musicians are always invited to bring their instrument (non-amplified only) and join in the Tuesday Night Jammin' Sessions (doors open at 6 pm). On any given Tuesday, groups of musicians fill the school rooms to pick and jam for themselves or to share pointers to aspiring musicians - but there is usually a small audience in attendance enjoying the experience.
And every 3rd Saturday (doors open at 7 pm) groups take to the stage to play to the crowd of music lovers, and you can bet there will be some cloggers in the house!
Don't miss the opportunity to look at the museum with more than 40 unique instruments and talk to the musicians about how they soak in the sounds of Roane.
The facility rents out to groups for a variety of events. A four hour rental is $50.00 and a full day is $90.00 with a $25.00 refundable deposit if the facility has been cleaned up after use. The Club will not rent to any group that uses alcohol or drugs.
